The Mets in the Post Season

By: Justin Heiss

The Mets clinched first place in the National East League on Saturday, September 26th. The last time this happened was in 2006. The Mets started the 2105 season playing poorly but turned it around, and by May they were in second place. mets[1]

Everything started to change on August first, when the Mets won the game against the Cincinnati Reds which made them go into first place. The Mets have been doing great lately. On Sunday, October fourth, they won a game against The Nationals 1-0.

My favorite, David Wright, is an excellent player on the Mets. He is the third baseman and captain of the team. He was drafted by the Mets in 2001. Matt Harvey is another great player; many consider him one of the best pitchers. The Mets drafted him in 2010 and ever since he has been a “fan favorite.”

The Mets play Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 9:45 pm. This is the first game in the National League Division series. The game will be played at Dodger Stadium. I predict that the Mets are going to win because of good offense and defense. Hopefully, David Wright and Matt Harvey will contribute to the win. This game will start the Mets winning streak and take them to the championship.
