The Girls Varsity Swim Team Defeats Plainview

The Girls Varsity Swim Team defeated Plainview on Tuesday, September 24th with a final score of 96 to 84. Leading the team was senior Kellie Cannon who won the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 26. 35 and the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 5.31. 43.  Kellie qualified for the counties in both events. Following her was sophomore Caroline Farrell who swam the 200 Individual Medley winning the event with a time of 2.19.67, and the 100 yard Freestyle finishing at 57. 50. Kathryn Mannle won the 200 yard Freestyle with a time of 2.09.67. Swimming the 50 was Gabrielle Ambrosini who came in third with a time of 27. 45. All swimmers qualified for the counties.

The highlight of the meet was sophomore Maggie Aeroesty who broke a fourteen year old school record in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1.02.13. Great job girls! Come Support the girls in the upcoming meet on October 2nd swimming against Great Neck South!
